LG May Be To Blame For iPad 2 Shortages
LG a well reputed brand is now be blamed for the shortage which is currently going on of iPad 2. some bodies are saying that LG May Be To Blame For iPad 2 Shortages. Because iPad 2 is the high demanded in the Market., it is the buzz created by the fan of iPad 2 that LG May Be To Blame For iPad 2 Shortages.
If you’ve been trying to get your hands on an iPad 2 and haven’t had much luck, apparently LG is the company to blame. LG manufactures the displays Apple uses on the iPad 2, and according to supply companies that receive and assemble iPad components, LG has been short on deliveries.
The reports cite light leakage problems and other manufacturing defects at LG’s LCD plant that’s stopped them from shipping product. Instead, the company prefers to resolve the in-house manufacturing issues before they send out additional displays to customers like Apple.
To compensate, Apple has asked two additional LCD manufacturing companies, Chimei Innolux and Samsung, to help out. You know, the same Samsung that Apple is locked in a legal battle with as we speak. Chimei will start shipping panels later this month, and Samsung has already ramped up production to help keep iPad 2s rolling off the assembly lines and into stores around the globe.
It’s important to note that the LG plant issues have not been confirmed by LG. Both they and Apple are keeping quiet on the issue, leaving analysts to speculate on why it’s still so difficult to get an iPad 2 if you want one. The fact of the matter remains that the iPad 2 is still in scarce supply, even though there are more retailers than ever who promise to carry it when it’s available.
The shortage is a double-edged sword for Apple. On the one hand, they benefit from pent-up demand for their product and people scrambling to buy as many as they can when they are available. On the other hand, Apple could lose iPad customers to the broad field of upcoming tablets running Android Honeycomb and the BlackBerry PlayBook if they don’t get supply in stores as soon as possible.
