Apple is moving forward on their crusade against Samsung
The patent war began when Apple filed a lawsuit against Samsung for copying the iPhone’s design and the TouchWiz UI and putting it on the Galaxy S. Apple has given a statement that the latter chose to copy Apple’s technology among Samsung’s line of smartphone products and computer tablets.
Applications and games available for iPhones are alike, if not the same, with the Androids. Angry Birds, FourSquare, Fruit Ninja, FatBooth, Live Blackjack 21 and Zynga Poker are just some of the applications you can get for both phones.
Just as soon as they have filed the lawsuit, Samsung had striked back with one of their own. According to them, Apple has stolen five of its patent claims in three countries, namely Germany, Korea and Japan.
In the past year, HTC and Nokia has also filed complaints against Apple for patent infringement. The case was taken to the US International Trade Commission and Nokia has taken it up with the Federal District Court in the Western District of Wisconsin and was recently settled.
Apple’s attorney said that high-level executives from both parties are meeting as suggested by the judge on the said case, but did not comment any further.
Now, Apple is taking another step forward on its war against Samsung. On July 6, 2011, Apple has filed a counter lawsuit to the USITC and wants a ban on the Galaxy S phones and Galaxy Tabs in the US. Samsung might drop their latest complaint but Apple seems not to care about it.
